Montreal's Geoffroy is readying a first proper EP release, having already shown us a preview of his smooth, sultry electronic-soul earlier this year in 'You Say'. The next taste of the short-player is 'Soaked In Gold', a sweet-as-anything middle point where Chet Faker's caramelised falsetto verses meet Jai Paul's squalling, infectious funk guitars. The EP, also called Soaked In Gold, drops on Friday, so there's no waiting around for more of the same incisive synth-led pop from another of Canada's bright new things. - DC
